Stressed out this holiday season?  Just Breathe!  I like alternative nostril breathing to help calm a rapid heartbeat.  It’s simple just,

  • Place your thumb down on one nostril, breathe in slowing through the other nostril, then exhale slowly through the same side.
  • Then, switch sides, by placing the pinkie down on the other nostril (be sure to release the thumb first), breathe in slowly and end by exhaling slowly.
  • Repeat this switching back and forth between the pinkie and thumb alternating nostril sides.
  • Heart rate should go down, you should feel more calm and your sinuses might actually be a bit more clear after this slow inhale and exhale breath!
