I had to pivot my yoga business to an online format if I wanted to keep connected to my students.
I teach both Beginners Yoga and Chair Yoga and Yoga for Veterans on a weekly basis.
Three things I learned to quickly get me as ease in teaching online. . .
- De-clutter & Setup your yoga space – do a class online with family & friends to test your setup of the space, your camera (phone, laptop), your microphone (phone, laptop). Get familiar with the different options on Zoom for bringing in students, muting, and giving directions. I started a weekly family zoom room to test out all the bells and whistles in the Zoom online world.
- Email/Contact your student list to provide them a link to registered and come do a free yoga class online with you. Provide a little bit of info, in downloading zoom on their device, etc.
- Have your students come early to your Yoga Zoom room about 15 minutes early, so that you can help them into the room, talk to them, and get ready to teach! Have fun!
You can teach to your students with just your iphone, a tripod, Zoom account (40 minutes max with the free account) or through Facebook Live! After you get the hang of it, you may want to purchase a camera, or use a laptop camera.
Need more info! Take YogaVista Academy’s class ==> How to share your yoga teaching on video
Plus Suzanne Dulin’s course ==> Get Started Teaching Yoga Online Using Zoom
I’ve taken both courses, and highly recommend both trainings, to help you get your yoga biz online!
