Salute to the Sun Yoga Pose Chart with Beginners Yoga with Gail Pickens-Barger in Nederland, Texas.

Written instructions for a set of yoga poses to go through the Salute to the Sun yoga pose sequence.  You will see this sequence, with a bit of variation, in most group yoga classes.  Always keep your poses between the easy and the ouch! Listen to your body, as it gives you clues how deep, how long to be hanging out in a pose.

When I teach this I add all the variations with down dog or extended child’s pose, and plank or modified plant, sphinx, cobra or up dog, adding in a table top after the forward fold, then alternatively adding hands on the hips with bent knees as one hinges back up to standing.
